2001-2002 Single Family Home up to 2000 Sq. Ft.
Growing weary of their over sized, 3,500 square foot, two-story home, the Owners, now empty-nesters, wished to create a home environment where they could continue to formally entertain as well as showcase their extensive collection of antiques and memorabilia. An architectural rendering of a 1,650 square foot all brick home was redesigned to take full advantage of the gently sloping site overlooking the lake below.
The semi-public spaces of the interior–the kitchen, dining area, living room and foyer—were designed to have a free flowing feel to them. However, views of the private areas of the home were designed to be obstructed; their use is not disturbed in any way whenever someone comes in the front door.
