About Us

2009 Energy/Environmentally Responsible Residential Construction up to 2,500 Sq. Ft.

The main goal when constructing this brook-side retreat was to capture the outside landscape within the contest of ever-changing light and air while creating an environmentally responsible dwelling that took advantage of on site resources.

Creative use and /or reuse of on-site and local resources.

A production home was modified to meet the modest budget of our homeowner, their desire for a true farmhouse design that would blend into the rural countryside while at the same time provide a level of energy efficiency which far exceeds the building code requirement.  We faced the challenge of keeping costs down without sacrificing the quality materials that ensure increased comfort, improved environmental quality, enhanced durability, lower operating costs, and lower maintenance necessary to construct the home in accordance with NAHB Green Home Building Guidelines and Energy Star® standards.  The home was constructed on a heavily wooded, steeply sloped, boulder strewn lot whose terrain would become integral to the projects success.
